As the husband of the Queen for a remarkable 73 years, he supported her strongly and consistently throughout her long reign – in her own words, he was “.. her strength and stay all these years.”

Our bobbin is painted with a thistle entwined with a black ribbon against a cream coloured background with gold coloured bands to the top and bottom of the body. The inscription reads:
