Part of an industry established in the Lake District in 1883 by John Ruskin, these techniques combine three forms of needlework - drawn thread, cut linen and needlepoint lace.
After a brief history of the industry, there is an extensive sections on 60 traditional patterns followed by a chapter of projects using the techniques.
Clear diagrams and good black and white photographs.
